Chef Wang Wei Qing

Chef Wei Qing Wang has accumulated a wealth of experience
with over two decades behind the kitchen and has perfected cooking
traditional Cantonese dishes as well as Fujian-style dishes. He aims to present cuisine that represents the best of both worlds by applying a modern take to traditional cuisine. This is all expressed through his meticulously prepared dishes.
Prior to joining Shangri-La The Fort, Manila as Canton Road's
executive Chinese chef, Chef Wang previously worked in Shanghai
and Fuzhou, China. He also worked as the chef de cuisine in charge of the Chinese kitchen at Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou, in 2004.

Inspired by the design elements of both East and West, the design of Canton Road tactfully embraces traditional Chinese culture with contemporary design approach for a harmonious and magnificent dining space.
The simple interior and natural lighting of the main dining hall provides guests a warm dining experience.
Its subtle floral and geometric patterns and textured silk panels radiate a pleasant, inviting, and current vibe. The exquisite metal screens with modern-oriental pattern and the embroidery patterned wallpaper create an oriental ambiance in the restaurant, further heightened by the choice of Chinese modern tunes and the contemporary soundtrack from Chinese movies. Under the luminous chandeliers, guests are given the choice of dining at the center tables or tucked in plush couches to fully enjoy the gathering in such glamorous yet relaxed dining environment.
